Daphne - Ten Months Old

Here are this month's updates:
(Someone please pass the tissues, we've hit double digit month birthdays!)

Weight:
Nine Months:  15lbs, 4ozs.
Ten Months:  16lbs, 4ozs. (at her appt last week)

Height:
Nine Months:  25.5 inches (guess our measurements via the elephant growth chart were a bit off)
Ten Months:  we didn't get an official measurement; but according to Aunt Amy's trusty elephant - we show 26 inches (again...hhhmmm - could be operator error).

Hair Color:
Nine Months:  seems like it fluctuates between a light brown and medium brown.
Ten Months:  little or no change

Eye color:
Nine Months:  blue; depending on the color of her shirt - they look a bit green
Ten Months:  little or no change

Daphne has been up to A LOT lately; what a difference a month makes!

This past month was a wild one. She has grown up so much in such a short time - I mean it has only been 30 days.

Look who's 10 months old!

Scrunchy Face!

So happy to be 10 months old!

She can say baba, dada and mama - we know that she doesn't associate the word she says with want she wants (yet) - meaning, after she finishes a bottle she may just spout off babababababa and we know that she isn't asking for more bottle.

Daphne can clap her hands together - which she loves to do, especially if she hears someone say 'YAY' or hears clapping - she must do it too! She also waves hi/bye and has just
about mastered blowing kisses - you know, bringing your hand to your mouth, making the kissing sound and then act like you're 'throwing' the kiss to someone...yeah, she does that and it is beyond sweet. She also loves (and we mean LOVES) to play peek-a-boo. We're pretty sure she would play for 2 hours straight if someone / anyone could keep up with that.

She has been pulling herself up from a sitting position - and she will do so by pretty much grabbing anything she can! She loves to be standing up. She doesn't seem to be too interested in moving anywhere once she does stand up; she just likes to be on her feet.

Everyone has heard how babies/kids enjoy playing with the empty box that the gift came in versus the actual gift - well, Daphne is no exception. She loves to 'play the drums' with anything she can; but she loves an empty box - because then she can flip it over and 'hide'. She loves to put toys in the box and then take them out too.

Oh, and before we forget....wait for it...Daphne's first tooth popped through earlier in the week! It was pretty much unbeknownst to either of us - not for lack of looking/hoping - but (we think) because of the Amber Teething Necklace she's been wearing for a while (at the very least it has helped immensely with decreasing the amount of drool she produces).  If you aren't familiar with what it is,

Please excuse Rachel's finger, it was the only way we could get Daphne to keep her mouth open long enough to actually get a photo of this teeny weeny tooth poking out over her gums! Hopefully you can see the tooth; trust us, it is there - we hear it scrape against every plastic toy she puts in her mouth.

  1. How can she be 10 months old? Seems like the 3 of you just got back home from CA. These pictures are adorable, of course. And now she has a tooth, too.

Kisses and hugs for Daphne Jane. Miss all of you.
